Stocky Is Shutting Down on August 31, 2026 — Here's How to Migrate in One Afternoon

If you run purchasing through Stocky, you already know the date. What you might not know is how much breaks if you do nothing.

This isn't a feature deprecation. Shopify delisted Stocky from the App Store in February 2026, and on August 31, 2026 the app shuts down completely — APIs included. After that date:

• Your purchase order history inside Stocky stops being accessible through the app
• Supplier records and product–supplier assignments stored in Stocky are gone from your workflow
• Anything that syncs through Stocky's APIs stops syncing

Here's the good news: migrating is an afternoon of work, not a week. Most of the job is exporting data you already have. This guide walks through it in order.

Step 1 — Export everything from Stocky (30–45 minutes)

Do this before August 31, even if you haven't picked a replacement yet. The exports are free; losing them is not.

Export to CSV:

1. Suppliers — names, contacts, emails, lead times, minimum orders
2. Products and variants with supplier assignments — which supplier sells which SKU, and at what cost
3. Open and historical purchase orders — for your records and for anything still in transit
4. Current stock levels — you'll reconcile these against Shopify's inventory anyway, but take the snapshot

Save the CSVs somewhere safe with the date in the filename. Even if your next tool imports directly, keep the raw exports as a backup.

Step 2 — Decide what you actually need (15 minutes)

Stocky did three jobs for most small stores: reorder suggestions, purchase orders, and receiving/stock counts. Before you look at tools, answer two questions:

• Which of those three jobs do you use weekly? (Be honest — if you never ran stock counts, don't pay for a tool that's all about stock counts.)
• How many SKUs do you buy? Under ~500 SKUs with one location, the mid-market planning tools ($150–400/month) are more machine than you need.

Write your answers down. They're your filter for Step 3.

Step 3 — Pick your replacement (the honest checklist)

Whatever tool you choose — including ours — check these five things:

1. Can it import your Stocky data directly? Manual re-entry of hundreds of supplier–SKU assignments is where migrations die. One-click import of suppliers and assignments is the single biggest time-saver.
2. Does it tell you what to order, or just show dashboards? Small stores need decisions ("order 400 units of X by Tuesday"), not charts to interpret.
3. Can it create and send a real purchase order? PDF plus supplier email, not just a note in a dashboard.
4. Flat pricing. Per-order or usage fees punish you for growing.
5. Does it work the day you install it? You have weeks, not months. A tool that needs a consultant to set up is the wrong tool right now.

Step 4 — Migrate (60–90 minutes)

We'll use Reorderly as the example — because we built it for exactly this situation, and the import is the part we're most proud of. The general flow applies anywhere:

1. Install the app and connect it to your store.
2. Run the Stocky import. Suppliers and product–supplier assignments come across in one click.
3. Spot-check ten SKUs. Do the suppliers, costs, and lead times match your CSVs? Fix any mismatches now, not after your first PO.
4. Set reorder alerts. Enter lead times per supplier; the app computes reorder points from your actual sales velocity. This replaces the daily "check sales, check stock, do math in a spreadsheet" routine.
5. Create your first purchase order. Send it to a supplier as a PDF by email. If it goes out clean, you're migrated.

Step 5 — Run both for a week, then let Stocky go

For your first week, create POs in the new tool and keep Stocky read-only for reference. When the first POs arrive and receiving works, you're done — well before the August 31 deadline.

The one thing not to do

Don't wait for the last week of August. Thousands of stores will migrate at once, support queues everywhere will be slammed, and rushed migrations are how supplier data gets lost. An afternoon this week beats a panic in six weeks.
